My friend and I have this running joke about law school in Detroit, and to try to make it fun, we put Eminem in the mix and reference all his music, particularly "Lose Yourself" given that's in the soundtrack for the film "8 Mile" We have a great time with this joke but obviously there's something more to it which brings me to this entry.

Anyway, I don't know if you're inviting opinions on this, but I'm on admissions committee at UCSF, and though it's a medical school and I'm sure things run differently... my two cents is that if it were me, I would definitely accept your current acceptance if you don't get into any of the other 5 schools. If you don't, the whole thing will become a gamble once again, especially since schools do ask whether you're a reapplicant... and if you by bad luck become a third-time reapplicant it really doesn't look good (at least as far as medical school is concerned; perhaps law school is different). But if you accept your acceptance, you're going to become a lawyer no matter what... and IMO that's more important than where you actually go ( ... )

I definitely intend to put in a deposit for Florida A&M, b/c it's an acceptance, but all these other options are things that I would keep in mind pending by some cruel twist of fate I don't go to law school this year. The majority of the schools I applied I am a first time applicant and for others I was considered a reapplicant. The law school application cycle is a tricky business, and it's unpredictable, one year you may get accepted the next time you get rejected, so it's definitely rolling the dice every time you reapply. So I do appreciate the perspective on this and thanks again for the congrats, it means a lot!!! :)
