Woohoo! Well done you! In answer to your question "Is this a thing runners do?" I think so. Some runners do indeed run every day. I personally try to run 3 times a week and allow my body to rest or work out other areas on the inbetween days. As you know I try to run to/from yours on Monday (the shortest distance door to door is 2miles), I try to do 5miles on Wednesdays and my half marathon training longer distance at the weekend (next weekend I have to try and do 9miles...). The weeks I'm unable to run during the week make the longer runs *much* harder. Also the weather adds it's own fun challenge. You might like the "runners" group on LJ. some of them are hardcore marathon runners chalking up 60-70miles a week, others are like us and managing to run a couple of miles a few times a week.
Likewise after running I barely have the energy to climb the stairs to get home let alone do anything more physical.
at one point i dated a triathlete. she worked out almost every day but obviously she mixed up which sport she was training on on any given day. i think that mixing it up made it more interesting but also kept her from straining any one set of muscles too much.
which is mostly my way of saying that i'm not really sure but i'm listening ;-) .
Ha - thanks! Given the eerily quiet place LiveJournal is this days, I think it will be interesting (if I can indeed get a string of posts going, as intended) to see who out there is still reading.
Based on both posts and replies, I feel like the number of active users on my friends list can possibly be counted on the fingers of one hand... ;)
