You may just be a breakfast genius. A breanius.

You've got a slicer, right? I'll bring some typical Norwegian spreads as well - this'll be so aweesawme we won't even be able to spell it.

I have the slicer!

I'll need some caramel Prim, of course. And a block of the good stuff. That's nothing to do with the above plan, that's just me wanting stuff. ;)

I've often been called the Breakfast Genius. More times than you'd imagine. Now's my time to shine.

When I think of the average American breakfast, I think of bacon, eggs and pancakes. But I never go for that, I can make pancakes but I've never cooked bacon. I usually end up making crepes :)

However, I can make what's traditional at my house. My dad makes this really good recipe of my gran's for rice custard. It's pretty basic ingedients--eggs, milk, sugar, and of course rice. It's my favorite breakfast and I'll have my dad teach me how to make it properly before I go :D

You've never cooked bacon??? That's understandable, though. I never liked cooking it b/c of all the grease. But then I discovered the easy way and now I love to. I recommend doing it in the microwave on paper towels. It's fast and it cuts out all the grease and it makes it crispy! 2 minutes on one side, flip, another minute or so on the other side. Tasty!!!

P.S. - sorry if I'm butting in on your comment as I don't even know you. But you are (in part) the subject of the post, and no amount of bacon awesomeness is too intimidating for an Iowa girl. :D

I quite like bacon, the only reason I've never cooked it is because the folks never buy it--maybe once a year. My dad's a huge fan of it but my mum's not, and she does the shopping. But next time we do have it I'll try cooking the bacon in the microwave, cos I'm all for cutting out the grease! :)

Yup, gotta admit that bacon in the microwave's my preferred method too. I don't use paper towels though as we never bother buying them. I just drain it off mid-way. Paper towels are better, but only if you actually have them.

I like the sound of this rice custard thing (the Norwegians have a similar thing. Actually, so do we. Awesomeness) but I insist now that it's served with bacon. ;)

What rice would you need? Normal or pudding?
