I just got back from a lovely Magnetic Fields performance at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. Despite them easily being one of my top three favorite groups, I've never seen them live mostly due to the sparseness of their live shows. terribly talent(less) boring assholes who haven't put out a decent record since charm of the highway and still haven't put anything out as fun or consistent as House of Tomorrow's EP.

okay, so i agree that they haven't put out a decent album in quite a while and they probably never will.

but as far as being boring, talentless assholes, i'd have to disagree. at one time i think they were very innovative and creative. i think the simplicity of merritt's lyrics in contrast with the absurd, yet relatable, subject matter is beyond clever. not to mention Sam Davol is a brilliant cellist. yes they are extremely dry and elitist but hey, i like them
