Well, so much for the job. A long and boring process starts once I get the official letter from the ACC next week, and there's a chance of redeployment still (although no-one has any idea how big the pool actually is, and reports are ugly), but 90 days after that letter, if there's no alternative found for me I'm out.

Come one...pros of your current situation. I'll start you off:

1) Conclusion of the job you're ridiculously overqualified for, where you've been fruitlessly teased along by the undelivered prospect of something better, and in which your efforts are largely divorced from your rewards.

2) Incentive to find job which doesn't suffer the same failings.

3) A timescale. That's more than most people have when jobhunting, and it's highly underrated. You have a framework to plan things around.

4) Severance of geographical ties. You can go wherever people want you.
