are insane!!!!!!!

But in all honesty, were probably overdue. We live in one of the richest nations in the world. For too long we had the luxury of fuel that was cheaper by the gallon than milk!

Other countries relied on other measures for transportation. In China and Japan, everyone bikes. It's just a way of life because driving would be too ( Read more... )

i was in beijing in 1998 and i was just there again this year...i am so sad that the number of bicycles has DRAMATICALLY dropped. i remember seeing endless numbers of bikes...now its cars. im sure lots of ppl in more remote areas still use bikes, but its far less common than it was even 10 years ago...

yeah, i hardly see people on bikes. it's kind of funny that here in austin, even though gas prices are skyrocketing, no one seems to take the initiative to save the money. people are still willing to plunk down the $2.50 a gallon.

the easiest, most environment-friendly, and most traffic effective would be to invest in a bike or check out public transportation. people in austin seem to be allergic to both.

i cant ride a bike (sad:() but i walk everywhere. i dont own a car, and i moved to cities where i could get around on public transportation and by foot. i feel much more at one with my community.
