I feel rather guilty about wanting stupid amounts of gifts, and maybe just a little more formality in this wedding thing than I do most of the time.  And at the same time, I'd rather have friends help out with a lot of things than give gifts, because I can actually use help pulling this thing off at a fairly small cost rather than have piles of ( Read more... )

so ask your friends who are helping to give at least a *small* gift, elaborately wrapped... that way you can have the Pile o' Presents, even if half of them are just kitchen utensils from the $1 store or whatever.

Ooh! Congratulations dudette! Weddings are shiny! Good luck with all the planning and everything, i'm sure it'll all come together and you'll have a most fantastic day and marriage, and I agree with the above poster, maybe just ask for little gifts, then you still get all the pretty pile of wrapped up things? :)

One of my best friends from high school. She's in boot camp right now, and I can't get her boyfriend (the only person she's written to) to give me her address so that I can tell her that way.
