Oh, I'm sure the post ep fic will come, just not yet ;-) No, this is just a fic, a word sketch really, that came out of the realization that Cuddy's never been in House's apartment. Yay, you posted it!

It's a great explanation for why Cuddy's never been let in. It makes sense! Especially given how, well, scared House is of intimacy and getting hurt. It compliments the fact that House himself always relies on metaphors to explain things, too. =)

Yeah, eventually I get around to posting :-)

It's funny, but I can easily wank an shippy excuse for House not letting Cuddy in. But otoh, I can easily wank a shippy explanation for the fact that Wilson has his own key. In both cases, the road leads to House's bed. Ah, the beauty and complexity of a multi-ship mind ;-)

Thanks :-) As you know, Wilson is often there to grease the wheels, but I felt like House and Cuddy needed a little private playtime this time ;-)

Lovely. I especially liked the transition from "was it such a bad experience..." to "You're afraid it will happen again" to "You're afraid it won't." And House's reaction when she gets it right.

Cameron, you dolt. House's apartment is small and cluttered because, if there's a piece of furniture every few feet, he doesn't have to use his can or put weight on his right leg when he's at home.

And it's so true--House's personal space is arranged to suit his needs. I'm always amused by some of the little tricks he's developed, like hanging his cane over the doorway.
