The Iowa caucus is over. By this time tomorrow you'll be able to hear the crickets again. Or, at least, you would if it weren't the dead of winter and the cricket babies weren't buried under a foot of snow and ice... among other things

I hate them, too! They go on and on and bloody on about pouring money into this, that and the other, while spending all that supposed money on the political campaign.

The Australian Electoral Commission had this stupid campaign during the Howard/Rudd federal election of '07, stating that our right to vote is 'the most precious thing we own'. Which is just bullshit because a) no one cares, and b) it's not a 'right to vote' when it's mandatory for every person over 18 to vote.

The money spent on campaigns is obscene. Interesting that the Republican winner was out-spent 20 to 1 by the loser. Seems someone might stop and think that it's about who the candidate is, not how much he spends but I'm sure that won't happen. The loser will probably just spend even more money on the next state.

Politics is a swamp. Honestly, even if you're a decent person going in, I think you get corrupted by the whole system.

I love Keith Olbermann, but if Chris Matthews doesn't shut the fuck up, I may have to stop watching. He interrupts whoever's talking every five fucking seconds...*strangles*
