Well, why not

I swore I wasn't going to write a post- Wilson's Heart tag. Except...I kept musing over House's behavior after Chase fries his brain. We don't really see House talking or even reacting much to anything after that and I got to wondering what if it took a while for his circuits to reset ( Read more... )

A + B = a suit and tie for House and a migraine for Cuddy.

Awesome. :D

This is shorter than it seems. You've captured House's inertia and confusion very well. The ending is so reflective of how well House knows his own limits, as well -- banter with Cuddy aside.

Well done,
Armchair Elvis.

Thanks so much :-) Getting into House's mind is difficult enough--doing it when his mind is not firing on all cylinders was a real challenge. I'm glad you found it believable.

Oh, that dork. Honestly, tell her you like her, you moron!

And the one thing I would beg to differ about is that given that I do actually have primary epilepsy (as opposed to House's secondary epilepsy), I was given a pledge sheet by my neurologist that actually forbade baths, swimming, etc. for six months after the last seizure I have, plus the year Michigan says I can't drive every time. Whoo hoo.

Baths are frowned upon because if we lose consciousness, we will also lose muscle control and drown in the sitting water. At least with showers, it's not as likely. Of course, his skull has already been cracked open, but since he probably uses a safety bench in his shower anyway, it really wouldn't be an issue.

Well, of course he's not going to tell her. He's House, after all ;-)

Actually, House doesn't have epilepsy (not yet anyway.) A single, post-traumatic seizure isn't diagnostic of epilepsy. He would still have restrictions because of the seizure...which I'm pretty sure he would ignore at the first opportunity.

Yeah, I know it has to be at least three within a close time period, but given the brain trauma and the fact that he was also comatose, I thought Cuddy might take extra precautions on the grounds for what would be diagnostically important on that front.

I think Cuddy would *want* to take extra precautions but she's realistic enough to know that House wouldn't follow them anyway.

I'm sure the Shore et al have their own idea about what happened to House in the immediate aftermath, but for a few weeks longer, this my canon :-)

And my header is courtesy of cryptictac who always makes fab layouts for me.
