That's what I thought too! But through context, I guessed again and guessed right: Black Lives Matter. On the radio today I heard that Black Lives Matter had had a sit-in, holding up the parade. I recall that their demand was that police floats no longer be included in the Toronto Gay Pride parade.
Now, in living memory homosexuality has been illegal in Canada, gays have been harassed and worse by the police, bathhouses have been raided and their members exposed... There will always be police, it would be better that we all get along. Police floats in the Pride parade sends the message that persecuting gays is not OK.
So, the burning question is: is it OK to pressure another minority, one that has only just achieved a fair amount of mainstream acceptance, to risk their personal security in that way? Why not another group with less to lose, like the Shriner's, the Calgary Stampede, the Christmas Parade or the Saint Patrick's parade? It must be at least 80 years since people stopped marginalizing the Irish.

Overall I'm with ducktapeddonkey on the whole thing. The point of a pride parade is to foster inclusion, tolerance, and an attitude towards people that goes beyond "you are a member of group X, and therefore good or bad" and instead sees the actual person

Quite right! On the bright side, in a news update we were told that the document had been signed in the interest of getting the parade moving. I don't get the impression that it is going to be honored.
