It seems as though almost all such stories eventually are revealed to be hoaxes, doesn't it?
This is why, now, by default, I tend not to believe anything presented to me as "a fact". People are simply wrong about things too often anymore. And just as often, it turns out they weren't just a little wrong, they were completely wrong.
You know, there's actually no requirement whatsoever that we believe anything we're told. And if we do, in any case, how does our belief in something change that thing? It doesn't. Not in the least. But believing something does change us, because submitting to a belief means someone has gained control over some aspect of our thinking, and therefore control over our mind.
So be wary of those who would seek to control your thinking by manipulating your beliefs. Because when they do succeed in controlling what you believe, and what you accept as reality, they have concurrently succeeded in controlling you - which is nothing any rational person should allow to happen.
