So, swans do mate for life apparently. A friend of mine told me that there was one in the pond near where she lived that fell in love with a swan-shaped paddleboat and would follow it around the pond all day until it was exhausted. They had to put time constraints on the paddleboat rides so they wouldn't kill the swan. Now they're a little concerned about what will happen when he tries to fly south with his lady-boat.
