This is a lovely tribute. I miss Kate's character a lot.

Thank you! I love Ziva, but I miss Kate too, especially the Kate/Abby and Kate/Ducky friendships.

:-(

I know it's always very hard to bury someone, even when they're only the latest in a long line.

Hijacking a plane, though... that sounds interesting :-)

You sound like you speak from experiance, my young friend. I hope you have not had to stand at the side of too many graves.

Life with Jethro is always intersting.

On the one hand, yes I have. But on the other, they're the type of people who don't stay dead very long.

Jethro's your... what? Boyfriend? My bf's kind of on the interesting side too.

Don't stay dead for long? What an intriguing statement.

Jethro is my very dearest friend, and besides my Mother the closest thing I have to family.

How do you mean, by interesting, my boy/ I hope he treats you well.

The most difficult part for me was seeing Kate's family. I stayed pretty much out of the way at the funeral. She was a good friend, so I did stay behind to speak to her parents.

I remember thinking we'd been due for some luck in the probie category, when Gibbs first brought Kate aboard. The last new person we had who'd lasted beyond a month was Tony and I was glad to see Blackadder go. Mean? Maybe. But when I heard her call me "the secretary," all bets were off. Kate was a lot friendlier from day one. She didn't even blink when Gibbs left her with me that one day to explain the office procedures and how you keep the central hub happy and efficient.

I liked her. A lot.
