I started to do one of those "what were you doing X number of years ago" surveys, and it led in an interesting direction.  To find out what I was doing 10 years ago, I pulled out my journal from the time, and decided to type up the entries from right around this time ten years ago.  Here are some highlights.

That's right, folks, I've returned (victoriously) from the campaign world.  Well, I actually did a few weeks ago, but hadn't posted yet.  So here I am.  But now I'm heading out for a wiiiiild night (AKA game night at Sarah's), so I'll post more LATA!

Honestly, I'd rather think of what common illegal vice might become legal in the future- marijuana! Let's hope, anyway.

I really don't think the whole nation will outlaw some common vice. Some communities may ban smoking anywhere except private homes and clubs, maybe, or pass more statutes against gambling or trans fats or adult bookstores, but I ( Read more... )

I should be asleep, but I honestly can't sleep, thinking about this election. Maybe I'm feeling guilty for not canvassing today. Anyway, I was reading the different projections at http://www.fivethirtyeight.com and was (once again) impressed by the potential Indiana has to be important this year. walking around in the lobby
going up the stairs at all hours
experiencing all the seasons there
running down the stairs and out one of the back doors and across the Dells to class
frantic printing sessions in the lab
