Children's Crusade #9 Discussion Post

Finally, after more than a year it's over. Let the freakout begin.

The good: After an epic amount of teasing, Billy and Teddy finally get their smooch on with a giant half page kiss. I may have made happy squeaking noises. Between this and everything that's going on with the Avengers Academy, Marvel running away with the title of most gay friendly publisher (until DC has Batwoman make out with her girlfriend or Apollo and Midnighter get their acts together anyway).

The team taking a break for a while is probably the best way to synch up the team with the current events, and I found it pretty realistic considering what they'd been through. And my heart grew five sizes when they unveiled the statues.

The bad: I can't believe they're actually keeping Cassie dead. Vision will probably wind up rebuilt in one form or another sooner or later and Eli will come back as soon as a big enough robot shows up to stomp the team but Cassie is the one that's getting to me. It's straining belief that they wouldn't take advantage of every resource they had not to bring her back and they had a lot of resources there.

In the end I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing. I'm definately going to have to reread and see how it all hangs together - I can't decide if the X-Men's change of heart was reasonable or not.

Also, if Scott's back keeping the memorial statue of him seems odd. On one hand I suppose they're not really sure what to do with it (putting it in storage for next time seems tacky), on the other they've had enough people come back from the dead to have come up with a plan.
