I realized that I was only using LJ for short, stupid messages every now and then, and that there were several times that I wanted to post something short and stupid to LJ, but figured it was actually too short and stupid. I also don't really like LJ. Now LoudTwitter compiles all of my short and stupid thoughts throughout the day into something a little longer and more stupid so that any of my neolithic friends not using Twitter can see how my day was. It's really a match made in heaven.
I've realized that I also mostly use LJ for really short posts. However, I don't like Twitter because it's supposed to be used to update your friends on every boring detail of your life. My LJ posts, on the other hand, may be short, but they're full of important information, such as, ahem, "I've been sitting at my computer in a wheelchair all day playing interactive fiction." To me, Twitter trivializes online posts, which are serious business.
