Jude had come to in the park with no sign of Rikku. His Rikku. He needed his Rikku and he'd make her his at last.

So to that end he was climbing the tree outside her window.

Walking home with a crazy protective mercenary was pretty reassuring. She still felt like shaking. It was dumb, because she could totally beat the crap out of Jude - she already had once tonight - but she'd much rather walk back in peace with the nice, safe, insane murderer as an escort.

At least she'd stopped crying.

And thank God for that. Wade was crap with crying. He usually caused it, not stopped it. He walked along next to her, uncharacteristically quiet. He spent the time looking around to make sure Jude, the dead man, wasn't around.

Rikku hugged her arms a bit. "I'm sorry that I had to - make you come back here. I mean, I'm glad you were there and I'm glad you're here, I just." She shuddered. "Didn't feel like being alone."

Particularly not with it being dark.

"Not a problem!" He told her cheerfully. "I am occasionally a bodyguard."

He, of course, didn't mention that he was sometimes paid to kill the person he was guarding too.
