I really need help. I'm really having trubles with this college thing, i dont know where to even start! can anyone give me any advice or anything? im leaning twards going to a Music School. I havent even taken my SAT's gggrrr. Really this week, someone slashed my bike tires so now i have no way to get around. okay getting back. How did some of you

Make an appointment with your school counselor / advisor. Start a checklist of things to do. Partner with a friend who's going through the same thing and help each other. Ask a lot of questions, listen carefully to the answers, take notes, keep a file, and try not to panic.

There's so much college help out there, but I think most of your searching will start when school actually starts again. Go to all the college fairs, talk to the counselors, do Google searches, etc. A billion colleges will also be sending you information throughout the year, so be sure to check out their majors. Decide what you want from college - close to home/far away, how expensive it is, what their requirements are, blahblahblah. So much help is available to you.

The first step is probably deciding what you want to major in, and then start looking up schools that have that major available.

Our counselors are shit and there's so much information out there that it can drown you. Seriously the one site of information that helped me the most was collegeboard.com. it's the best. I basically just used that when I was finding colleges. You can search for colleges by major/focus, location, size, population, etc. It's just amazing. when you click on a school it gives you the basic layout and then a bunch of tabs for financial aid, student life, contact infor, majors, and a bunch more. Really it's good. Oh, and it will search scholarships too, but the best site for scholarships is fastweb.com (or org). Create an account, their free and amazing :)
