If someone were to drop a large metal ball on Massachusetts at present, it is likely the state would smash into very small pieces, such is the severity of the current (and prospective) temperatures in the north-east. Ten below as of fifteen minutes ago, which is two degrees below
the forecast low, and it's supposed to drop even further tomorrow.
What's more, a ten- to fifteen-inch accumulation of snow is expected over the next twenty-four hours. Sounds like a great time to catch up on sleep lost during the week.

On my way to work on Wednesday morning, I happened across an iPod lying in the gutter at the other end of Jewett Street. I thought the chances of it working were slim, due to its lying out in the cold for (I would guess) half an hour, but it's fine. The earphones are a goner, though: a car must have run over them. If I can't find its owner by knocking on a couple of doors immediately beside where I found it, I shall be hanging onto it. It's a 2003 model [

I got hit where it hurts in my first paycheck. 26% of the total was taxed: 52% Federal, 23% Social Security, 20% state, and 5% Medicare. I'm working towards getting an exemption from tax since I'm not yet a United States citizen. If immigration are going to drag their heels, I'm more than happy to benefit from it. Research to follow.
