IT'S NEARLY TIME TO REDEEM DUDLEY AGAIN!

THE FOURTH dudley_redeemed FEST BEGINS POSTING ON SUNDAY!
The Smeltings' Games master has his starting pistol poised. This year's fest leaps from the starting blocks in two days' time. Someone had better get Dudley and Piers out from behind the bike shed and onto the playing field. We've got lots of shiny fics and arts and a podfic warming up to show themselves off to you in the next couple of weeks. We're looking forward to seeing the results of the few outstanding extra extensions; if you haven't been in touch for a while, please contact us at dudley.redeemed@gmail.com.
We're taking Saturdays off from posting this year, not because the Dursleys have converted to Judaism (would any religion want them?) but in order to post Round-Ups on that day so that folks can catch up on their reading and viewing.

A few notes and reminders before the posts go up:
- This time round, we are reverting to the way we did things in year one and this is not an anonymous fest. Nevertheless, in order to keep things special here for the duration of the fest, PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR WORK ELSEWHERE UNTIL THE FEST IS OVER AND THE FINAL MASTER LIST IS UP which will be a few days after the last entry. You are welcome to post to your journal or elsewhere about your creation with a link to this comm, though. Similarly, please refrain from posting other works to the community until after the fest concludes. We want the creators to get all the attention they (and their visions of Dudders) deserve.
- PLEASE REVIEW/COMMENT. Really. Nothing sucks more than seeing your work up with only comments from the mods for days on end. Let the folks who have contributed know that you appreciate their effort, and what you particularly liked, as often as you can. Compliment Dudley for his cunning and courage! He really does still need the positive reinforcement for good behaviour! And if you can't keep up during the week, there's always Saturday.
- PLEASE RESPOND TO YOUR REVIEWS. It's polite to say "thank-you,". We suggest you use LiveJournal's "Track Events" feature so that you know when comments and reviews about your work are posted. Because it's not anonymous, you can respond straight away.
- Play nice, or you might end up in the same detention as Dud and his gang. We all take risks by posting our creative work, and some of us are working in-depth with Dudley and his friends/family for the first time. If you have a big issue with something which has been posted, then please contact the mods first (PM or email - dudley.redeemed AT googlemail.com) rather than being negative in comments or slagging something off on your journal/twitter/burn book/tumblr/the changing room wall.
- Trolls/mean girls/folks who like to "out" others: Don't make us send Piers, Malcolm and Gordon after you. Piers has nicked Smeltings sticks for the rest of the gang, and they're not all as reformed as Big D. So yeah, no flaming (except for the gay kind), no hating, etc. Seriously, bad behaviour will not be tolerated in this community. Please let the Mods know (again, via PM or email - dudley.redeemed AT googlemail.com) if anyone is being a true arse. We'll deal with it.
- Please be aware that since we've made the fest open to all entries in which Dudley is redeemed "in somebody's" eyes, not all depictions of Dudley Dursley have remade him into a Hufflepuff. Please do heed all warnings, and don't assume that the redemption has both happened on-screen or is redemptive in Hermione's eyes. Regardless of all these school metaphors, if you're ACTUALLY still young enough to be a schoolchild, then you shouldn't be reading anything rated above PG-13 and it's not our fault if you do.
- LOVING, SWOONING, SQUEEING are all wonderful! Even though manly men don't do these things in public, we know none of YOU are as manly as our Dudley is. Some of us are quite Petunia-like when it comes to him, frankly. This is fine. So long as we're all nice to one another, we can get as gooey as we want about our sweet, ickle Duddlebuns.
