"Meet the Heroes" game trailer

Nov 09, 2010 03:23

The video begins with a quick wipe of the Wii logo, followed by logos from KaibaCorp and Industrial Illusions' respective video game divisions. Afterwards, the trailer leads in on a large office building. The savvy will note from the futuristic look of the city that it appears to be Hero City. The view switches to the inside of the building, and into an office where Elemental Hero Sparkman is wearing a business suit.

Sparkman: Whenever I tell people, they're always surprised. They say 'you're a hero, but you do paperwork?!'? Well, that's what being a hero is. We're not some random vigilantes, doing it for the glory, no. You stop a fifty-foot fire dragon by blowing up a bridge and dropping him into the ocean, you think that's just the end of that?! No. I'll level with you, about 70% of my job is paperwork. [He sighs, and....somehow takes a sip from a coffee mug.]

The view switches to a conference room, where several heroes and Neo-Spacians (all in business attire) are gathered, watching Elemental Hero Neos give a presentation. He gestures to a chart, indicating 'Heroism' is up, and 'Villainy', 'Cowardice', and 'No-goodniks' are down.

Sparkman (voice-over): Some people think that the boss hates his job. I...I gotta tell ya, I've known him for years, and I don't think he does. Sometimes, sometimes I wonder if he likes the office stuff more than the other stuff...

The video cuts to various scenes of Neos drinking coffee from a 'World's Best Boss' cup, making chili for all the heroes, singing and presenting a cake at what appears to be a birthday party for Burst Lady, etc.

Sparkman (voice-over): Then....then the alarm goes off, and I remember what he's really like again.

Suddenly, an alarm goes off in the office. All of the heroes immediately stop what they're doing and start removing their business attire. Sparkman pulls his Spark Blaster out a drawer of his desk (those with a quick eye will note that while the view pans over Sparkman's desk, there's a picture of Maiden in Love on it) and loads it while Necro Darkman takes a couple practice swings with a pair of nunchucks. Neos bursts out of his office, lets out a roar and rips his suit off, revealing his normal appearance underneath. All of the heroes fly out the windows.

The view suddenly switches to over-the-shoulder third person as demonstration of gameplay begins. The setting is a battle between the Elemental Heroes and the Dark World monsters in Hero City. Sparkman fires a bolt of electricity from his hand, nailing Zure and sending him into the air. A quick demonstration on-screen shows that flipping the Wiimote from horizontal to vertical will shift the view to first-person, which Sparkman does, firing several shots from his Spark Blaster, which all hit home, causing a massive shower of sparks as Zure is destroyed. The view immediately switches to Burst Lady, who throws a fire-punch at Broww, sending him into a wall just as Kahkki leaps on her back and produces a large knife. She lets out a roar, expels a wave of heat, which sends Kahkki flying off of her back. She immediately goes back to punching Broww into paste. Finally, the view switches to Neos, who's being attacked by Broww, Sillva, and Bronn. He starts by punching the ground so hard, a shockwave tears through the ground, eventually exploding under Broww and sending him soaring into the air, screaming like a little girl. Immediately, he leaps at Sillva, who swings his scythe into Neos' chest. Neos roars and starts punching Sillva. An on-screen prompt appears commanding the player to repeatedly mash the '2' button on the Wiimote as Neos punches Sillva so fast his arms turn into blurs, culminating with a prompt to swing the Wiimote upwards, which makes Neos deliver a devastating uppercut that sends Sillva flying into the air, screaming like a little girl.

The view switches back to a cutscene, focusing on Bronn for just a second. He and Neos stare at each other, before Bronn turns and runs. Neos leaps high into the air, as the view switches back to Bronn. He briefly looks back, and the last thing he sees is Neos coming down, one of his arms extended in a karate chop. Just as it hits, the view cuts to black.

Eventually, the view fades into Sparkman walking up behind Neos.

Sparkman: ...I think you might've overdone it a little, boss.
Neos: ...maybe a little.

The view pans out, revealing Neos obliterated a public street during that battle, and his last attack on Bronn in fact created a massive crater. The view focuses back in on Neos and Sparkman.

Neos: ...well, back to work! I gotta get me a slice of that cake! [He produces a tie and starts putting it on as he walks off. Sparkman just kinda shrugs and follows after.]

The screen shifts to a view of the Elemental Heroes that pans out to reveal several other groups of monsters, including the Dark World monsters, several spellcasters, Core-Chimail and Lightsworn. A title is imposed over all of them: "DUEL COLOSSEUM: Holiday 2010"
