PATRIOT Act

Sep 09, 2003 12:59

So I learned this in Media Studies, and saw it on CNN when I came home (odd?), and read up on it. Take a look at the PATRIOT Act, or the `Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT ACT) Act of 2001'. So do we give up privacy in order to facilitate anti-terrorism?

Obviously. This, by the way, is what inspired me to never, ever vote for Bob Graham. He's all about the Patriot Act. Well, that and his offhand "we should lob some nukes into Syria" comment this Spring. It's more and more likely that I'll be writing in Andrew W.K.

I don't know how to answer that last question. I don't like my privacy being invaded, and things could be interpreted incorrectly; but I'm all for anti-terroism precautions. Or whatever. What is your response to it?

Love you, :-*
