funny you say that. it reminds me of a friend. in a recent game of frisbee he was running under an acorn tree and suddenly he falls down. we all gather around to see what happened to our friend. as it turns out, an acorn fell out of the tree at just the right time and place and hit my running friend right in his opened eye. he found his acorn. to answer your question, acorns are hurtful, i advise staying away and keeping tightly shut eyes near all nut bearing trees.
