Jared has been consumed with knowing all he can about the Black Falcon for years, and is fascinated by the winged creature that once stood as the city’s saving grace. On a stormy night, Jared is spared from death by who he swears is the Black Falcon, and is spurred to track him down. There’s more to the Falcon’s story, and Jared finds himself in greater trouble than a tragic car wreck. Jared’s modern fairytale unravels on a dark and dirty backdrop, but there’s still a damsel in distress and a hero who will need saving.

Notes: Written for spn_j2_bigbang 2014. Title from The Beatles' Blackbird. This story has been in my head for a year or so, since seeing The Avengers in theaters and leaving in a gigantic downpour. I'm glad I finally got the chance/time to put it down, and I'm doubly happy that I was claimed by the fabulous dollarformyname. Her excitement over the visuals in the story kept me going in the final days, along with the crazy attention to detail she has in the art. It's all so gorgeous and fits the tone perfectly, and she chose some of my favorite scenes to illustrate. I'm VERY, VERY, VERY excited to have this art with this story. Thank you for picking ME ♥
