J2 Christmas Timestamp: NYE

Dec 31, 2009 11:16

wendy recently asked where all the NYE fics were and it dawned on me that I was going to write a NYE timestamp for 12 Days of a J2 Christmas. So ... uh ... I broke lockdown again. FML.

“We should probably put the tree away.”

“We should probably have more champagne,” Jared counters.

Jensen’s head lolls against the back of the couch to eye him. It’s visibly obvious they don’t need any more to drink, but Jensen still smirks. “You have a wonderful idea.”

Jared shifts on the couch, leaning close to Jensen and not quite kissing. “Once in a while. I do.”

“Yeah, once,” he replies, moving the final inch to press wet lips to Jared’s. There’s sucking lips and teases tongues, but they’re both drunk enough that they don’t bother much past that.

Just as Jensen’s hand skates up Jared’s chest, aiming to grab hold of the neck and pull him in tight, Jared jumps off the couch. As he jogs out of the room, he cheers, “More champagne!”

Jensen’s still chuckling (not giggling) when Jared plops back down into the couch and pours … messily, spilling dribbles of champagne on their clothes but smiling the whole time. They sip the champagne, settling deeper into the couch and eyeing the tree. It’s still standing in the family room, still lit up and dressed in garland and Jensen’s homemade ornaments.

“Can’t keep the tree up forever.”

“Says who?” Jared asks with a whine.

“Says me,” Jensen intones with authority. Then he allows a tiny smile when Jared turns on the puppy dog eyes. “When d’you think we should take it down?”

“My mama always waited until after New Years.”

Jensen nods, eyes drooping under the alcohol, but he still takes another sip.

Before long, the TV they’ve ignored for the past hour chants the countdown. Jared palms the edge of Jensen’s ass, tugging on his hip to draw him closer, not stopping until Jensen’s in his lap. He whispers against Jensen’s mouth, “three, two, one,” and then kisses. Sweet and soft at first, but it grows hungry, gets loud as it deepens and they’re swiping tongues this way and that.

They break to breathe and Jensen rests his forehead to Jared’s. He gently smiles. “Happy New Year.”

Jared grins and responds with another kiss.

Jensen leans back and pats at Jared’s neck. “Okay. Let’s get the tree.”

“What? No way, man,” he whines, pulling Jensen back in.

“You said New Years. It’s New Years Day.”

Jared stares, critiquing every detail of Jensen’s face and finally reads the tiny twitch at the corner of his mouth. “You’re a dirtbag.”

Jensen chuckles and moves back in to kiss. Says against Jared’s mouth, “We can wait ‘til noon.”

Pulling Jensen with him, Jared shifts and stretches out on the couch. He nuzzles Jensen’s hair with a tiny whimper. “Don’t talk about tomorrow.”

“Past midnight. Already tomorrow.”

He tightens his grip around Jensen. “It’s still tonight. Lemme have tonight.”

Jensen shifts to rest more comfortably with Jared, hand grazing his chest and stopping every few moments to feel the heat beneath his sweater. “What’s your resolution?”

“To not piss you off so much,” Jared responds without a second’s thought. Jensen laughs, followed by Jared, and the sounds rumble between them. “What’s yours?”

“To not be pissed off so much.”

Jared smirks against Jensen’s temple. “Gonna take a lotta effort.”

“Yeah, and yours is a piece-a cake?”

Jared laughs again as he kisses Jensen’s forehead. “Love you.”

Jensen turns his head and kisses Jared’s neck. “Yeah, me, too.”
