The new season of Misfits makes me want to vomit rainbows, its so good.
While I'm not one of those fans who went into the new season with whatever the opposite of rose colored glasses is, because of Nathan, I was curious to see how they work in the new guy. As of now I'm kinda indifferent to Rudy.
I have to say the best part about Nathan departure is the focus on the other characters. I mean, Nathan was the writer's favorite in season one and two, and yes, having had more experience then the rest of the cast, it made sense to give him the brunt of the narrative. I mean, the kid can act.
BUT it's nice to see Kelly get some incredible lines and for the rest of the gang to get more screen time and to see everyone's friendships with one another. Like more Kelly and Alisha time (which is lacking in the first two season) or Kelly anyone really.
I'm also go glad that Alisha has a not super fucked up power now, and that Kelly is a fucking rocket scientist (and did anyone else have thoughts about an epic misfits/ Doctor who crossover where Kelly travels with the doctor and that's how Future!Simon gets to the past? No, just me?)
And i am presently surprised how not-shitty the second episode was. I mean, how often do you see such classic fanfic trope like genderswap as cannon? While it's a bit iffy that Curtis' character development is based around sexual assault (it does smack a bit of terrible fridging tropes) most of the episode was pretty fucking great. I do commend the women they have playing his girl side, because she is awesome.
and next week is more timey wimey angst with Simon and Alisha? Bring it.
