Most people still do think he's an idiot. It's just that one segment of my country's population that lionizes him. But thanks to the PR machine and history whitewashers, he is now somehow the last quarter century's great American saint.

They're even naming airports after him and whatnot.

And the whole "Tear down this wall" thing -- it wasn't even front-page news when he said that speech. It was barely even on the register until a few years later, when it appeared to be prophetic.
