A well stated tribute. Its amazing how many people who don't agree on much all agree that Andy was a good friend to have.

Well said, Mark. I only knew Ziggy peripherally, so while his death is noted, it is fairly unobtrusive in my life. However, I have many friends who are grieving deeply this loss. Thank you for putting together such a touching memorial of him.

...there's really no opportunity to do him justice, so I settled for early memories and finished with respect for the kind man that he'd grow to be.

Valid. I wonder if he was so aware of how many people loved him and will consequently miss him?

And if he wasn't, would knowing have changed the outcome?

Nothing will change the outcome in this case - when he chose to move forward with his irrevokable actions, all else became the past.

As much as anything, the issue with a disease like depression, is how far down you are and can you still see the surface from the depths. Once you can't, all else becomes irrellivent.

We can tell our friends and family how much we care and love them, but if they are untreated or unable to get treatment that is effective for the long term... the ball remains firmly in their court.
