Yeah... a german oscar winner *without* nazis! (...though I still have the feeling that the jury simply did not get that it is not about nazis and the second world war anyway)

Do you still read cinemark? I watched the movie and should have a review up there soon. I know you had read and commented in the past and wanted to make another shameless plug for my newly revived movie journal.

I'm afraid I got a bit behind the last months since I did not bother to check very often since there was such a long gap after The Passion... also I didn't watch many movies anyway and therefore left out most of the bad ones - and reviews of bad movies are normally more fun. Well. I watched The Prestige. And the Machinist. But they were both rather disappointing than bad.

Oh wait - I watched Episode III. And the fact that everybody said it would be at least okay just made the experience worse. I think that's the last really really bad movie I've seen, I mean, bad in any way a movie can be - bad effects, bad directing, bad camerawork (well - is there camerawork anyway if most of the cameras are virtual anyway as one can easily see from the fucked up perspectives when the "camera" moves?) and good actors defining qualitywise the lowest point of their careers. But most of all the seriousness - this movie takes itself serious. Oh god, I hate this movie and I hate George for making it.
