This makes me sick. The justice system isn't a popularity contest, and it's not a democratic system. You don't get to vote on whether you're guilty or not. You drink, you drive, you get caught, you go to jail. A petition shouldn't have any effect. In fact, it should enrage the judge to increase her sentence. I hope there's a petition going

Heh, that was actually the political commentary cartoon in our local paper today. Showed a Fox exec talking on the cell phone to her, tellig her to do her time, they'd put a camera crew in there and call it "the simple life: bread and water edition."

Sad thing is when a celebrity comes out of jail/rehab they write a book about it, go on Oprah to promote it and the American audience are saps enough to buy into it.

I agree, she did the crime do the time, she is no different then any other American citizen. If I were to break the law like she did there would be no "Hey Arnie can you help with this one?", it would be "Goto Jail, go directly to jail! Do not pass Go, do not collect $200."
