I was saddened by the news this morning that director Ingmar Bergman passed away last night at age 89. It had been years since he was churning out new and brilliant work, but there are few films of his that I haven't liked or been moved by. My favorites are Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Cries & Whispers, Autumn Sonata, and Fanny & Alexander.

I know. The same day. It's almost like they planned it. Called each other up in the morning and said, "Today? All right then. See you soon." And then died.
