Why is it so difficult for people to commit to things and then stick to their word!? Since my last long running D&D game broke up in January after the holidays kicked in, I have been completely unable to get a group of even three people to show up more than one week consistently, and of my four players in the game I started in July, three have now

:( sorry you are so fraustrtated it can be that way. Have you tried going to a local gaming shop and maybe putting up a flyer looking for players? I see that all the time at my local gaming haunts. Wish you were in MA you could join our group of about 12 people. Oh and Beckie started gaming too, she's playing a Kestral.
