1. How did you get into 31? [nebula 9]
Their album was called music to have sex to, so I downloaded it while I still belonged to emusic. It is sexy music.

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? [Björk]
Probably "Bachelorette"

3. What's your favorite lyric by 41? [Cat Stevens]
There are so many, but I guess my favorite would have to be "And if I ever lose my eyes, if my colours all run dry, Yes if I ever lose my eyes, Oh if I ever lose my eyes, I won't have to cry no more" from "Moonshadow".

4. What is your favorite song by 49? [T. Rex]
"Ride a White Swan"

5. How many albums by 13 do you own? [Pink Floyd]
All of them, save the a live album or two and the most recent greatest hits. So that's what? 15.

6. What is your favorite song by 50? [Sigur Rós]
"Olsen Olsen"

7. Is there a song by 4 that makes you sad? [Tori Amos]
Several. "Winter" was the first that popped into my head, though.

8. What is your least favorite song by 15? [Johnny Cash]
That's tough, as he has hundreds and I'm certain I haven't heard them all. But his version of "Personal Jesus" is pretty dreadful.

9. What is your favorite song by 5? [The Cure]
"Pictures of You" followed closely by "Treasure"

10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? [Laurie Anderson]
Most of her stuff is very experimental and thought-provoking, but "Babydoll" always gets me in a good mood.

11. What is your favorite album by 40? [Ravi Shankar]
I really like the album he did with Philip Glass, though I can't think of the name of it off the top of my head now.

12. What is your favorite song by 10? [Frank Zappa]
"Watermelon in Easter Hay" which is also my all-time favorite song ever by anyone.

13. What is a good memory you have involving 33? [Mike Oldfield]
Some of his single-track instrumental albums have put me in some heavy trances before. I can't think of a particular time, but Amarok and Tubular Bells are very good for that.

14. What is your favorite song by 37? [Alabama]
As I only listen to their Christmas album (over and over on repeat all Holiday season), my favorite by them would have to be "Candle in the Window"

15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? [Enya]
I am completely in love with the title tracks on both The Celts and Shepherd Moons.

16. How many times have you seen 24 live? [Marianne Faithfull]
Only a single time, at Town Hall in 2004 or 2005.

17. What is the first song you heard by 23? [Prince]
Heard? I guess something from Batman when I first watched the movie. The first song of his I remember vividly on the radio would be either "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" or "Seven."

18. What is your favorite album by 11? [Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds]
Easy! Murder Ballads

19. Who is your favorite member of 1? [David Bowie]
This question doesn't work quite so well if 1 is a single person and not a band. I'll let you guess the answer to that one.

20. How many times have you seen 14 live? [U2]
None, but they're on my list of bands I must see at least once in my life, even if I don't particularly like their current output.

21. Do you have any good memories involving 45? [Bill Evans]
I play it a lot in the background while doing stuff around the house or trying to relax, so certainly something good has happened while it was on, but nothing monumental.

22. What is your favorite song by 16? [Willie Nelson]
"My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys" would probably take the cake there, with scores running close on its heels.

23. What is the first song you heard by 47? [Luna]
Something off Romantica, which was playing in the office once when I worked at Princeton Review. I bought it shortly thereafter.

24. What is your favorite album by 3? [Depeche Mode]
Ultra. I could listen to it on repeat forever.

25. What is your favorite song by 18? [Smashing Pumpkins]
"Thirty-Three"

26. What is the first song you heard by 38? [The Pixies]
I guess it might have been "Where Is My Mind" at the end of Fight Club. I got into them late.

"Nothing or no-one will ever make me let you down" from "Kiss Them For Me"

28. What is your favorite song by 2? [The Magnetic Fields]
"Papa Was a Rodeo" is easily number one, but it's got lots of very close seconds, like "It's Only Time," "I Have the Moon," and "I Wish I Had an Evil Twin."

29. What is the first song you heard by 32? [Alison Krauss & Union Station]
"When You Say Nothing At All" even though that's her solo. With US it would have been whatever they played at the concert in 2005.

30. What is your favorite song by 8? [R.E.M.]
It's a tie between "Nightswimming" and "E-Bow the Letter".

31. How many times have you seen 17 live? [Tom Waits]
I don't think Tom Waits performs live, save one a decade or so, and almost always in LA. So the answer came back none, despite my desire to see him.

32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy? [Yo La Tengo]
Several come to mind. "Season of the Shark," "Griselda," "Our Way to Fall," and especially "You Can Have it All".

33. What is your favorite album by 12? [The Flaming Lips]
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

34. What is the worst song by 29? [Bruce Springsteen]
I only listen to the good ones. "Hungry Heart" is probably his worst well-known single.

35. What was the first song you heard by 34? [Miles Davis]
"So What" from Kind of Blue as it's the first song on the album.

36. What is your favorite album by 42? [Aimee Mann]
I think her work on the Magnolia soundtrack is her best, though if I had to choose a solo album of hers, it would be Lost in Space.

37. How many times have you seen 39 live? [Death Cab For Cutie]
Zip, zilch, zero.

38. What is your favorite album by 36? [Suede]
Coming Up

39. What is the first song you heard by 28? [Hungry Lucy]
Their cover of Depeche Mode's "Blue Dress"

40. What is your favorite album by 35? [Nas]
"God's Son" was pretty much the pinnacle of his creative career.
