oh god no... dont dye it blond first...it will screw it up. I promise I know these things. just leave it in for a 15 minutes extra than the recommended time...it will do the same thing if the henna is made well.
dont buy a kit or anything...find a salon (preferably indian) who makes it...you will probably have to order it because they usually make a fresh batch. make sure you tell them it is for your hair. and ask them for directions and what type of results you wish to attain.
I was looking online and there were directions and stuff so maybe I could order some pure henna powder, mix it with lemon juice and leave it on for a long time? Does something like that sound safe? Or should I just order powder and go somewhere?
I dont think you even need to order the powder. If you find an Indian salon, i gurantee you they will make it. Many other salon dont carry fresh henna...that is if they carry any at all. Just check around town, ask other Indian women who look particularly groomed where they get their stuff done and if you can find henna there. If you have no luck at all ever, then and only then would i resort to henna powder off the internet.
