Spectacularly shitty day.

Despite the initial upswing this afternoon, and interacting with some of my very favourite people, today's outing has ended in disaster. Technically, it began in disaster, too, as I appear to have contracted the department death, re-wrecked my potentially broken foot, and have officially been up for 24 hours, on 3 hours of sleep ( Read more... )

That sounds absolutely horrid. You won't get much efficiency done with such a cringe-worthy schedule on such little sleep. What do you mean by "fake" job? Is it better than your real job? :P Ah well, nothing a hot cup of tea with lemon and honey and a nice read in bed can't fix to lull those tired eyes into a comatose state :D

Yeah, it was a really spectacularly wretched day. I was basically on IM with my academic brother, crying.

My real job is not bad at all, just doesn't pay much. I have two fake jobs... one of which sometimes pays, and one which doesn't, but is a "benefits the group as a whole" kind of thing. The one that does pay is making and periodically selling nerd/geek jewelry.

That tea sounds lovely. I might do something similar when I get home THIS evening, after I clean my house from top to bottom.... or I might clean my house tomorrow before I go out of town...

Ooh, I didn't know you had an IM! :) A herbal refreshment with some cookies and you can't go wrong. And if you are going out of town, then it may be worth it to clean up sooner than later. I love coming back home to a clean room once I'm away for several days :D

I have several IMs. =) That is, I have all of the mainstream ones, including Skype and GMail. I used to just chill on them 24/7 (whether or not I was in front of the computer), but these days my internet is less reliable and it sometimes knocks them offline.

I did eat some biscuits, which helped a little. =)

Did not get much done in the way of cleaning (but I know how you feel about coming home to a clean place). Hopefully, though, I will be back home, soon, and cleaning will be accomplished over Spring Break. I've got a chapter deadline, though, so I'm not really fooling myself.
