why do people vote against their own well-being? ... apparently, the issue of gay marriage on the ballot in some key states helped bring out evangelicals to the vote (any positive measure for gay unions thus being squashed- but thats not the point)... i'd like to think that there's not that many evangelical christians out there, so if that's true

.....and i hope that people will, in the future, do their homework before they vote --- e.g. in my state -- 72% of the people voted to raise the minimum wage after electing the presidential candidate that is most adamantly opposed to a minimum wage increase
