Marvel strikes again

Years back, I was a bit of a comic book fan. Well, maybe more than just a bit. (>.<) Maybe really a huge fan … but we won’t go there. At any rate, there were several titles that I followed, mostly X-books with a few independents and DC thrown in. I’ve caught a fair amount of the various Saturday morning versions that have cropped up over the years … liked some, not really liked some others. Couple of weeks ago, I noticed that Marvel has been releasing animated movies of their various titles, including Dr. Strange. Pretty much on a whim I picked up the thing and watched it. Much to my total surprise, it was quite good! Didn’t follow the story exactly, but then I didn’t expect it to. The voices were good, the music was great and the animation was fantastic. It reminded me of what I enjoyed in Dr. Strange when I was reading it.

So, I figured I’d try Ultimate Avengers. Again, I rather liked it. This wasn’t a title that I followed, so I don’t know how close to the original it came … however, I do remember that Nick Fury was white and always had a cigar clenched in his teeth … hum … political correctness strikes again. (~.^) Still, it worked. At least for a fan of Marvel if not the Avengers. I suspect ‘True Believers’ didn’t like it as well, didn’t track down any reviews to see what other folks thought. At this rate, I may have to try their Iron Man as well. It’s really odd to have the excess time to watch stuff again…::grin::

Have to admit I’m glad it’s a three day weekend. Spent yesterday at a cat show … which was really too weird for words. The cats were cool, all the toys and stuff to buy was OK, but the cat people were really weird. Yeah, I know, that’s sort of the pot calling the kettle black in my case, but dudes. I don’t put makeup on my cats, or trim their ear hair or fret over their coats or snub the lowly persons who don’t have a pure bred cat … they are a bit odd. And stressed! Gads. Part of the reason I have cats is to lower my stress. Trust me, after watching Yohji high on cat nip … ::snicker:: stress doesn’t stand a chance. ::grin::

Luckily, with it being a three day weekend, I have a bit of a chance to catch up. The house is a mess. A rather huge mess actually. Between being sick, a bit of travel, work and just general craziness, I really haven’t been keeping up on the house work like I should. Oops. Oh well, got a chunk of it done today and should get the rest by tomorrow. I hope.

*sigh*

This is getting silly. In my bedroom I have a series of book cases that flank the computer desk and go under the window. Strangely enough, the top shelf of all of these book cases have nothing on them … aside from cat beds that is. Gads. Now, they’ve forced my printer out of the book case to put yet another cat bed to the left of the computer. The younger two have been fighting over who gets the cat bed on top of that book case, so to keep the peace between them; they now have an extra cat bed. (>.<) Yup. That “sucker” tattooed on my forehead? It’s getting to the point everyone can see it.

Naja, Take care all!
