Before the year ends, let's write down some recommendations - even if I haven't read as many books as I should have this year -

The post-birthday world by Lionel Shriver is a brilliant take on a Hollywood topic: a woman, Irina, has to choose between her companion of 10 years and the sexy new acquaintaince. And the reader gets to see what happens

I've been digging but I can't find the last book
I thought really great. pout

but in "Stroke of Midnight"-a book of 4 short stories
the first story by Sherrilyn Kenyon is a very good description
of a science fiction - its a fan's dream actually
I laughed alot.

the neighbors have started a murder mystery
but i'm hoping to move away
just in case it spreads to the neighborhood!

Homeless Bird by Gloria Whelan
is very good- i found a kids copy
but its a sad comentary on
old fashioned indian widow hood
I've been studying Kantha work- and doing it.
the kind talked about in the story.

"the secret fan" was good too( i don't know the author)
its about girls making thier own lotus shoes
and the differences in the familys they got married into

its too cold to sit and read!
