Hey, did you try Russian language? It sounds like the dude was freed by Russian troops from Konigsberg (where he was on teh way to France), but died shortly thereafter.

ANyway, here is the wikipedia article I foudn from a link to the main aritucel on the Battle of Boridono:

oh thanks Zara, you are the best, I should have tried russian wiki myself. I mean my keyboard does not support russian font, but I at least could have gone there and tried to search by topic.

Thank you!

I could never in a million years type in Russian, not that my laptop supports it either! There is a trick to it. You look up the Battle of Borodino in English on Wikipedia. Then, on the far left, there are a series of links to all the other articles on the same battle on the far left of the page in every other language in which such an article exists. There is (of course) a Russian article on this battle. In that Russian article, where your guy's name comes up, it comes up as a link because there is a Wikipedia article about him in Russian, even though there is not in English.

You are the smartest friend to have EVAR ;)

Thanks again dear. It is actually the most amusing to read how french officer describes his capture, you know? Saving his life, etc, but at least even in the self serving account he acknowledges the nobility of russian general.

Hm, you think they can fall in love? The imaginary officers of course.
