I think it's be nice to get it over with so that there is time to focus on everything else. I mean, if yuo think about it we do have a few things going on at that time and wouldn't the tournament be too much of a distraction?
I'm just saying I could see the teachers wanting to settle everyone down for exams and since Quidditch isn't as big as the final task and the ball is at the very end.
Before it was a fun idea to think of it happening after exams and right at the end, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that they would want it out of the way before they actually started the real review sessions and all that.
Mind you if I were a student I'd want it at the end, but it's too much for the champions from an 'adult' pov.
I mean the stress, the worry, the injury!! They'd be thinking and preparing all through exams and the Task isn't the point of hogwarts. (Again from an adult pov: I think it's truely the reason any kid would go! To learn magic and actually use it effectively and in competition with your peers!)
And now, for nominations.... gimme like two minutes to decide.
oof: I was about to joke about voting Draco Malfoy for Ball Princess, but then I realized that I've seen neither hide nor hair of a Malfoy around, and can only assume that there isn't one. ...and that Draco's not a sixth year, but I don't care to argue the particulers, so yeah.
oof (because it's only appropriate that I respond in kind): Haha, oh man, he'd be perfect for it. We should have someone write in Draco showing up with his own crown/tiara ...or throwing a fit over not being able to be included. ;)
Aaaaaaand we did have a Draco, an omfgawesome one, but she left us and moved on in the world. *sniffle*

I'll see if anyone else wants to give another reason for doing it the other way, but I'm pretty sure I'll stick with that. ;)
