So whenever I get very stressed (and I remember that too much luxury is a social sin), I use the Sims 2 to create my dream houses. Now join me as I tour you into my lovely, lovely, lovely creation.
Oh my God, that is absolutely lovely! Not that I'd want to download it because, as you said, it would take forever to load and play (plus it would look very out of place in my Pleasantview). But still, gorgeous!
Oh, I also recognize that staircase from a Sim Secret a couple weeks back! I had a feeling that secret about liking the Sims so you can create your dream homes was made by you :) The decorating style looked like something you would have, lol :)
I wasn't (overly) exaggerating when I said that the lot was taking millions to load, billions to play. I have my AsylumHood!Simself living there, so I should know.
And, yes, that secret was my # 2. Yay you for spotting it. :) And, yes, red, gold, and black are my favorite colors (and pillars my favorite structures), so I wouldn't be surprised if the lot does reek of my handiwork, haha!
Gorgeous, though you're right, that does look rather unplayable. Still, it's fun to build stuff you'll never use sometimes, and to experiment and learn so you can build more usable stuff in the future!
Thanks! The wings (separate lots but part of the Complex) are very much livable, though, because they're smaller -- though not less ornate. So in my AsylumHood, I have my guests there.
And yes, I've been able to learn lots of things. The staircase was made possible by an MTS2 Tutorial. I had a problem with not being able to attach the grand staircase with the wall, though -- which I simply glossed over with railings and pillars. And I was able to use more maxis stuff! Actually, the CCs were for the most part only walls, paintings, and statues, so yay!
Yeah, a lot of those hours (days, even) were better used for studying, but eh, I had to have my dream house somehow! And I often find myself building large-scale lots that I don't really need, much less use. But they're pretty, if I may say so myself, so I couldn't help it.
Oooh, that's a huge lot... or multiple lots. I try to restrain myself to what can fit on one lot because 1) my poor laptop and 2)my pictures which include neighboring lots somehow always horribly pixelate the neighboring lots. It's amazing, by the way... Come to think of it, now that I have AL and FT I have many of those statues, and I've had some of those tapestries for ages... You make me want to outfit my medival auxillary neighborhood with everything I can pull out of the buy catalogue. Hey, at least you restrained yourself with the gardening. I can make a 3x3 lot lag with the amoutn of plants I want to put on it. ... It would take forever to download, wouldn't it? Not to mention play...Darn.
The tour is focused only on the La Gloriosa itself, so it's just one lot. Actually, much of the statues were CCs--they were Sims 3 conversions found in MTS2. Still, you'd be surprised to see that many Maxis stuff are actually good for medieval hoods. I stopped short of gardening because... well, I'm not really a garden person. I'm more of the paneling guy. XD And, yes, this lot takes forever to play. The wings are quite liveable, though. Thanks!
