This week has been hard.. especially on my wife. Her back "goes out" once in a while which causes her great pain. Luckily I am a big guy and can carry/lift her around and get her to the Chiropractor. Not too long ago Intel introduced the P4 HT that could execute 2 threads on a single chip. Today I read that SUN has a 4 core cpu that can run 4 threads per core. Now instead of thinking how to scale clusters of boxes for more CPU power, we have to make sure these massively powerful CPUs have enough memory and I/O bandwidth to actually be of any ( Read more... )

Here I am, looking at some new holes dug in my back yard for fence posts. they have been marked for 4 weeks waiting for the auger guys to come.
