city beat said this one was as bad as the first if not worse. they said lucas should pretty much hang it up, coz he sure as hell can't write. i'll still go see it, just to get it out of my system, plus to see the special effects on the big screen.

Definitely. Yes I did have a good time, especially during the last hour. And I've also had my fill with the nothing-is-cool-enough-for-me mentality.
For those of us who saw the original Star Wars when it came out in the 70s, we want to recapture the total awe and wow factor that this movie delivered. And of course, this is an unrealistic expectation of the the most recent three movies. But you know, it's hard to let go of that expectation when the bar had been set so high in 1977.
My main gripe with the first two episodes (and especially Episode I), is that there isn't much of a story (as far as being that relevant to Episodes IV - VI). Episode III is where the meat of the Star Wars story really begins, and that's mostly why I enjoyed it.
