I Hate WLC

I hate WLC.

I hate this place so much.  It's everything I hate about the army.  It's maddeningly anal retentive about the most pointless things, things that don't even have 'discipline' value, whatever that is.  They waste my time.  They take ALL of it.

And they're not even creative about it.  At least in basic they would torture you in ways that

Oh, no...the madness was already there.

Actually, I'm not sure what they're trying to instill. A compulsive need to roll T-shirts to exactly 6" across? How to stand perfectly still in sweltering heat and sloppy wet rain alike? To yell all day long?

The last one is actually pretty cool, especially when you hear about a hundred people screaming things like "SHOOT 'EM IN THE FACE!" and "YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" in unison.

Hey, it sounds like kindergarten with arts and crafts. The scissors were probably the safety ones anyway, with no points. If you're having thoughts like that, then chances are it's already been tried by others. The tape probably isn't even sticky. And if you went to jump off the roof, you'd find railings and guards up there. And I'll bet they've replaced your rain stuff with look-alikes that are full of holes and air conditioned or something.

Your best shot is to just stick it out. Only 12 more days. :)

But they love you there. They told me that you cut your canteen label off more neatly than any other soldier at WLC. Give it another week and I bet this will be just like the end of summer camp and you won't want to come home when its over.
