[OOC] Permissions Meme
First off, as much as I enjoy playing a bad-tempered troll, I'd rather not be avoided because people don't want to deal with Karkat's canon use of cruise control. If you have a problem with his text, post in this journal with all your character accounts so I can limit our interaction to voice/video/face-to-face confrontations. :)

♋ Backtagging: No problem at all, believe me. I can be such a slow tagger that I pretty much rely on this. If you're tired of waiting for me, don't be shy, poke me in a PM or something! Odds are I'm just not sure how to reply to you. We can at least think of a good handwave.
♋ Threadhopping: Generally that's fine; I make sure to mark threads private if they're not open for threadjack. If you're not sure, ask!
♋ Fourthwalling: Homestuck's characters are somewhat genre-savvy and the canon is so damn complicated that it has its own fourth wall stolen quite often. Even if someone were to walk right up to Karkat and tell him he's from their favorite internet comic, he'd probably just get pissed off and blame their unexpected knowledge on weird time/plot shit. With that said, even if your character is somehow a webcomic fan from mid-2010 onward, I'd appreciate it if they didn't know his blood color.
♋ Offensive subjects: You can't offend me, dude. If you have something to say to me, I'd actually prefer hearing it straight from you than having you dance around the issue and make me guess.

♋ Hugging this character: Karkat isn't very comfortable with being touched. He'll probably get annoyed/hostile and push your character away unless they're someone he trusts quite a lot.
♋ Kissing this character: Okay, now, we all know Karkat is the ultimate paragon of mangrit, but unless you're Terezi he's not gonna want this. Kisses on the cheek/forehead go in the same category as hugs; you really need some serious CR and the right kind of moment to get away with it.
♋ Flirting with this character/Relationships: Troll romance is a lot more complicated than ours! Karkat has an established relationship in the flushed quadrant, which is the troll way of saying he already has a partner. He also has a moirail. He's still free (and looking!) in the ashen and caliginous quadrants. He'd especially like to find a caliginous partner, which is too bad because I doubt anyone even understands a word I just said. Also bear in mind that none of this would go very far, as he's 13.
♋ Easiest way to get on his bad side: Look at him. Say something. Breathe. Exist.
♋ Easiest way to get on his good side: Karkat isn't a complete sociopath and backs off with the attitude in a few instances -- if you've come to him about troubles in your love life, for instance, or if you've done something he considers reasonable. Like apologizing for whatever you did in the first place that pissed him off.
♋ Can I hack his journal?: If your character can hack, then yes. Unless I specifically mark it unhackable, your computer-savvy characters can get in.
♋ Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/etc?: Ask first. Generally this sort of thing is fine!
♋ Sexual orientation: Like most trolls, Karkat is genderblind.
♋ Fighting with this character: That's kind of the name of the game, isn't it? Even if it weren't, his personality is going to get him into trouble eventually, and this is where I tell you that's perfectly okay. He likes antagonism.
♋ Injuring this character: Trolls can take a surprising amount of damage; it's expected of them. Expect him to run off or hide it if you make him bleed, though.
♋ Killing this character: Nah.
♋ Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: He really hates that. Respect his privacy, goddamn it. If you want to know, ask, and if he feels it's something you should know, believe me he'll tell you.
♋ Warnings: Karkat is easily provoked and prone to doing incredibly stupid things in a fit of rage. I'll be checking the permissions for any character he starts hanging around with to figure out where I have to draw the line! Also, Karkat comes from a culture where feelings aren't spared, and he uses insensitive words like "cripple" or "retard" without even thinking about it. If he's making you uncomfortable, please tell me and I'll find some other way for him to make his point.
♋ Other Stuff: He's offended by public displays of pails, I mean seriously do you assholes have no class whatsoever goddamn. Primary thing you shouldn't mention around Karkat is blood color. He's highly sensitive to remarks about his hideous bright red mutant blood. Unless we planned this out, your character already ICly knows, or you're the mun for one of the other trolls from a post-Sgrub timeline, all your characters know is that Karkat considers it a private matter and deflects all questions or comments with personal attacks and creative applications of "fuck you".
To clarify, you can bring this stuff up if your characters know about it or happen to have a bucket handy, but it's all highly offensive to Karkat and will probably kill the scene, since he'd rather leave than discuss any of that.
