Kinda universal, which makes it very poignant. I don't know the people involved and probably don't share the same sympathies but this is powerful and could apply to any situation of loss and war.

For what it's worth, the men were the early partisans against the British and was inspired by Irish ballads, and by Irish rebels. "Michael Collins" was the nome de gurre of partisan leader Yitzchak Shamir.
