So I was working as an assistant to the marketing manager "Josie" of an Israeli stock brokerage company. And then Josie is fired for something bad (no idea what happened, why will no one give me juicy gossip???) and the Israeli CEO "Guy" turns around and says, "Who speaks English best here? Elle

Atkins really worked for me and mine. I hear ya about the doughnut thing (actually, for me, it's salty/greasy carbs, not sweet ones).
Anyway, this book became my bible. It really helped me stay the course. Every recipe I tried turned out well except for the breads, although I have a great low-carb bread recipe from another source if you'd like it.
Good luck! One of my BFFs lost over 100 pounds since this time last year, so it can be done! *major huggles*

Can I get the bread? I'd kill for some form of Challah for Shabbat.
And huggles, I've lost 25 pounds so far, but it's hard.
How are you doing?

1/2 C warm water
1/2 C cream
1 T oil
1 large egg
1 t salt
1 C gluten flour
1 C oat flour
2 t yeast
1 t sugar
Add ingredients to machine in the order given above. After combined, put in pan and let rise. Bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees.
60 carbs and 196 protein per loaf. 15 slices = 4 carbs/slice.
Notes: If you don't have a machine, proof the yeast in warm sugar water first, then add other ingredients in the usual bread making way. For oat flour, I simply pulverized rolled oats in the food processor.
This is good sweet (cinnamon and stevia) or savory (rosemary, dill and onion). I tinkered with the flavorings each time I made it, so I hope you have fun too. Good luck!
