Included in the British Film Institute / South Bank Centre's 'Anime Now' season in mid-June, the awesome 'Byousoku 5cm' with Makoto Shinkai on stage answering questions *doing the very happy dance*   Of all the anime I've seen, Shinkai's is the most visually stunning - the backgrounds are simply beautiful and deserve... no, need to be watched on a ( Read more... )

Well... as the office is but 5 minutes walk from the South Bank, I can easily pop down there and buy tickets. Alternately, they can be bought online I think via the BFI website.

Let me know if you want me to get tickets, I'll be down there on Friday when the public tickets go on sale. Not sure if it'll sell out quickly or not, but I know a good few people who would sell their sisters to see 5cm on the big screen *nods*

I've got 3 tickets for 5cm on the 20th June - two are taken (myself and my train/anime/post-rockg33k mate Gareth) and I'll hold the 3rd one for you unless/until you advise otherwise.

Got seats pretty much slap bang in the middle of the auditorium, so we should have an excellent view ^__^

Which version of Appleseed is it? The CGI, the old one, or yet another one I'm not aware of?

Looks to be the CGI one - there's a gallery of still from the various movies being shown and the Appleseed ones are definitely the CGI version, not the earlier movie ^_^
