Many hard lessons have been learned tonight. I obviously offended a lot of people on FurAffinity and LiveJournal with my bratty, selfish behavior, and I might have even lost a couple friends over it (though I hope it's not too late to repair those friendships

This does look like a real positive step forward (or, since I've cautiously said so before, it's more like the substantiation of said positive step :P) Initially (as would have been the case with many people, I expect) I was somewhat skeptical because it looked like the character would be a substitution of, as opposed to vehicle for...you get the idea.

Personally I couldn't go through with the harsh approach, even though it seems to have been the most effective catalyst here...I'm just too chickenshit. But now, tough love etc. or not, what matters here is the attitude- regardless of what you get dished at you, it's how you treat it that matters.

I just found your journal. I didn't see the drama, but you know what I do when people call me selfish? I say "Thanks!"

You deserve the kind of self esteem to be proud to help yourself. While your friends are good friends of yours for a reason, and there's nothing wrong with caring about them, you also need to care about yourself. Though I agree, you made a mistake when you intimidated, threatened, and engaged in drama. However, that is your responsibility, and nobody else's. If there was a good enough reason, others should forgive you.
